  • Test Analyst

    As Test Analyst, you are the test design specialist. You apply a wide range of formal and informal test techniques on complex specifications and in large projects.
    - You obtain clarification where specifications are unclear and missing.
    - You know a bit about team management and the technical aspects of IT, but your main interest lies in the test process itself. You thrive on finding anomalies.
    - You have 3 to 6 years of experience in software testing.
    - You have at least a basic testing certificate (ISTQB foundation) or are willing to obtain one through self study. Advanced certification is a plus.
    - You usually work in relative independence and report proactively to a test coordinator, test manager or directly to the project manager.

    KEY ACTIVITIES
    - You derive test cases from specifications using formal techniques.
    - You often also execute the test cases and report the results.
    - You demonstrate the right attitude when testing an application – trying to find problems rather than trying to prove the thing works.
    - You will collect measurements and compile them into test reports.
    - You promote good testing practices throughout the organisation.
    - You assist the test manager or coordinator; you can take over their role in small projects.

  • Junior Test Analyst

    As a Junior Test Analyst you start on a career track which combines technical and managerial skills.
    - You have a strong interest in testing, but not (yet?) in management or test automation. You already know a lot about testing, but you want to become a specialist.
    - You have 1 to 3 years of experience in software testing.
    - You have got a good grasp of test techniques and you can apply them in most circumstances. The V-model has no secrets for you.
    - You have a basic testing certificate (ISTQB foundation) or are willing to obtain one through self study.
    - You will work under the supervision of a Test Coordinator or a Test Manager and will be coached by a Principal Test Analyst if needed.

    KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Test Coordinator

    As a Test Coordinator you lead, coach and motivate a team of up to 5 testers.
    You will also participate in test design and execution. As SPOC for the test team you negotiate with other stakeholders to set up optimal circumstances for your team to work in and you report on your team’s activities to project and line management.
    - You have 3 to 6 years of experience in software testing.
    - You have a basic testing certificate (ISTQB foundation) or are willing to obtain one through self study.

    KEY ACTIVITIES
    - You will make test plans and then monitor and control their execution. You may have to define test strategies for smaller project.
    - You will collect measurements and compile them into test reports.
    - You will participate in test design and execution.
    - You facilitate the work of your team by creating the right preconditions, among others through negotiation with other stakeholders.
    - You coach and motivate your team.
    - You promote good testing practices throughout the organisation.

    COMPETENCES
    - You are a good communicator who can talk both with technical teams, the customer and middle management in a diplomatic way. You are used to giving presentations.
